MEDICAL COSMETIC CLINIC

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is similar to platelet-rich plasma (PRP), but it is processed differently to create a gel-like substance that contains platelets, leukocytes, and growth factors. The main difference between PRP and PRF is the preparation process.

PRP is typically prepared by centrifuging a patient’s blood to separate the platelets, while PRF is created by centrifuging the blood in a specific way that causes the platelets and leukocytes to aggregate, forming a fibrin matrix.

The fibrin matrix in PRF is thought to provide a more stable and slow-releasing source of growth factors than PRP.
