Botulinum toxin (BOTOX)

Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botulinum toxin is in the medication class of neuromuscular paralytic agents. It relaxes the muscles in the area of injection by preventing muscle contractions.

For cosmetic purposes, it can smooth out facial wrinkles in areas such as the forehead, around the eyes, mouth, and more.

Botulinum toxins can have severe side effects, because of individual differences in the reaction to the medication. It is also possible to have allergic reactions.

Tell your doctor and the person performing the procedure of all your medical history and medicines you are taking, and if you may be pregnant.

Some side effects of botulinum toxins are: problems speaking, breathing, and swallowing, and the spread of toxin effects such as loss of strength, loss of voice, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, and loss of bladder control. Other side effects include dry mouth, discomfort at the site of injection, headache, tiredness neck pain, eye problems, drooping eyelids or eyebrows, swelling of eyelids, dry eyes, double vision, and other vision problems.

Please note that these side effects occur in a small percentage of patients, but are serious consequences to consider.

Some indications for Botox treatment include a gummy smile, face slimming, lip flip, smoker’s lines, teeth grinding, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), and the Nefertiti’s neck lift.

It is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the world.

The botulinum toxin procedures are often called the ‘lunchtime’ procedures because it requires minimal downtime or recovery. The actual injection is not very invasive; some report it feeling like a pinch.

You can go back to your regular routine right after the procedure.

  • You will notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines.

  • You will not lose your ability to make expressions.

  • The results will last up to 4 months.

The best filler depends on the area you wish to treat. A complimentary consultation with one of our cosmetics experts will help you determine the best filler type for your desired results.

Several factors contribute to how long the results last, including:

  • Type of filler used

  • Area treated

  • Lifestyle

  • Age

  • Skin type

On average, the effect can last from 6 months to 1.5 years.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar in the body.

When administered by a qualified medical practitioner, it is well accepted by the skin; however, like with any medication or medical procedure, it is essential that all factors are considered to ensure that your treatment is both safe and effective.

  1. In your initial consultation, it is very important to fully disclose your medical history and any medications you are taking; this is especially significant if you have allergies to hyaluronic acid, gram-positive bacterial proteins, other fillers, or certain types of anesthetics.
  2. Other essential information to share with your medical practitioner includes whether you have a possible pregnancy, untreated epilepsy, a bleeding disorder, a history of severe scarring, an autoimmune disease, a recurring sore throat, rheumatic fever, or porphyria, as well as if you are taking an anti-coagulation medication or an immunosuppressive medication.

Adverse reactions can include bruising, redness, swelling, pain, itching, bumps, loss of sensation, headache, and difficulty performing activities. Major complications can occur if the product is unintentionally injected into a blood vessel, including vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, and temporary or permanent scarring.

If you experience signs of stroke, unusual pain, or a white appearance of the skin, contact a healthcare practitioner immediately. Please note that these side effects occur in a small percentage of patients, but are serious consequences to consider.

  • Dermal fillers are delivered through fine needles into specific areas you wish to target.
  • During the procedure, you may feel some pinching and mild discomfort due to the needle. However, many dermal filler formulas include lidocaine, an anesthetic, to minimize discomfort.
  • Additionally, our clinic offers the option of undergoing the procedure with a nitrous oxide delivery system to further ensure your maximum comfort.

Your comfort is of primary importance to us! It is important to remember that each of our patients is unique, with different levels of pain tolerance and varying levels of anxiety going into a medical procedure.

In addition to a lidocaine analgesic that is integrated into many of the fillers that we offer, our clinic offers the option of undergoing this procedure with a nitrous oxide delivery system.

With this system, you are able to control how much and how frequently nitrous oxide is delivered using a mouthpiece that administers a 50/50 gas mixture containing nitrous oxide and oxygen; which means maximum relaxation and minimum discomfort.

Nitrous oxide, sometimes referred to as laughing gas, decreases anxiety, increases the sense of overall well-being, and inhibits the transmission of pain signals during a procedure. This analgesic is safe, effective, and, better still, you are able to drive yourself home following your treatment!

You may experience some redness and swelling in the area of injection; however, for most patients, this resolves within 24 to 48 hours.

You may also see some bruising, which typically resolves within 5 to 7 days.

A study of dermal fillers published in October 2020 in the Journal of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Global Open found that “when used appropriately, fillers can provide dramatic and safe results for aging patients with mild skin laxity and mild-to-moderate volume loss.” However, the study also stressed the importance of ensuring that you undergo treatment from a knowledgeable and qualified professional in order to ensure the safety and efficacy of the procedure. (Akinbiyi T, Othman S, Familusi O, Calvert C, Card EB, Percec I. Better Results in Facial Rejuvenation with Fillers. Plast Reconstr Surg Glob Open. 2020;8(10):e2763. Morpheus8

Visible improvement in skin appearance can be seen within a few short days; however, the more dramatic improvement in skin smoothness and tightness is typically seen within three weeks.

The treatment continues to stimulate healing and rejuvenation for up to three months, causing a continued improvement in skin appearance.

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive procedure, with minimal downtime required for recovery. However, following the treatment, you will likely observe some swelling, bruising, redness, or minimal bleeding at the site of the treatment due to microabrasions.

These typically resolve within 1-3 days after your treatment. Keeping the recovery time frame in mind if you plan treatment before an important event.

Each person is unique, with different goals and different responses to the treatment. During your consultation with our Morpheus8 specialist, your optimal number of sessions and a treatment schedule will be determined that will most effectively accomplish your desired results.

Yes, Morpheus8 can be combined with other treatments to achieve even greater results! Multiple treatments can be performed within the same treatment session or can be spaced a few days apart; your treatment schedule depends on what works best for you and can be determined during your initial consultation with our specialist.

  • After your initial consultation to determine your ideal treatment plan, your first treatment will begin with the application of a topical anesthetic to maximize your comfort during the procedure.
  • A specialized matrix of microneedles will then be used to treat the target area with radiofrequency energy; this stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and promotes the remodeling of the subdermal tissues.
  • Following your treatment, which typically takes less than an hour, you will be instructed on post-procedure skincare to maximize your results.

You may experience some bruising, tenderness, and minimal bleeding at the treatment site; however, due to the minimally invasive nature of the procedure, these symptoms typically resolve within 2-3 days. It is very important to follow your post-procedure skincare instructions in order to facilitate a quick recovery.

  • Your comfort is of primary importance to us! Each of our patients is unique, with different levels of pain tolerance and varying levels of anxiety going into a medical procedure. With our nitrous oxide delivery system, you are able to control how much and how frequently nitrous oxide is delivered using a mouthpiece that administers a 50/50 gas mixture containing nitrous oxide and oxygen; which means maximum relaxation and minimum discomfort.

Following your treatment procedure, you will be given detailed skincare instructions.

As a general rule, following your treatment, you will need to avoid wearing makeup until any skin irritation has resolved. Moisturizer should be applied to the treatment area, and direct exposure to the sun should be avoided. It is also recommended that patients regularly use broad-spectrum sunscreen on a daily basis; this reduces the risk of skin cancer and also slows sun damage-related skin aging.

A recent study published in the International Open Access Journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that radiofrequency treatments for facial skin tightening “trigger a healing cascade that leads to stimulation of new collagen and elastin formation.” While the study acknowledges that results are not as dramatic as those that would be observed with a surgical procedure, such as liposuction or a facelift, 93% of the 247 participants in the study reported that they were satisfied with their results and would undergo the treatment again. (Dayan E, Rovatti P, Aston S, Chia CT, Rohrich R, Theodorou S. Multimodal Radiofrequency Application for Lower Face and Neck Laxity. Plast Reconstr Surg Glob Open. 2020;8(8):e2862. Photorejuvenation, also known as a “photofacial”, is a non-invasive treatment that is used to correct a variety of skin imperfections, sun damage, and various effects of aging.

Photorejuvenation is gentle and non-invasive. There is usually no need to apply a topical anesthetic cream beforehand.

However, if you are more sensitive to pain or feel discomfort during the procedure, let the technician know and they will provide you with a topical cream to numb the affected areas being treated.

  • Following treatment, you can expect to see redness in the treated area.

  • The area may even feel like you have a minor sunburn.

  • You may possibly see swelling for 24-48 hours following the treatment.

  • Pigmentation will become darker and in 7-14 days you can expect to see the pigmented areas flake off naturally.

Depending on your skin type and the goals of treatment, the average amount of treatments required is between 2-4.

A photofacial treats conditions including (but not limited to): rosacea and skin redness, unwanted or excessive freckles, broken and/or damaged capillaries, damage due to the sun, uneven pigmentation, age spots, sun spots, and liver spots.

BroadBand Light (BBL™)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a medical treatment that utilizes the patient’s own blood to promote healing and tissue regeneration. It is most commonly used in cosmetics for rejuvenation, orthopedic, and sports medicine to treat injuries such as tendinitis, ligament sprains, and muscle strains.

  • Visible improvement in skin hydration, texture, and tone can be observed within a few weeks of treatment. New collagen and blood vessels will begin to grow after approximately 3-6 weeks.
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as volume correction typically happens over 3-6 months following treatment.

PRP treatments are the most sought-after non-surgical, anti-aging cosmetic procedures currently available.

Additionally, as your own blood is used for this treatment, there are no dangers associated with rejection or disease transmission from the blood products used. The injected blood products naturally stimulate tissue healing and growth.

PRP injections can be used to treat any cosmetic problem area, including the eye area, fine lines, wrinkles, back of hands, dry skin, and acne scars, and to improve the tone and texture of the skin.

PRP is also a good option for those looking to promote hair growth in different areas of the scalp.

1.- Your appointment will begin with a consultation with your health professional, at which time your treatment plan will be created and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions.

2.- The doctor will then draw approximately 20 ccs of blood, which will be centrifuged to separate the plasma containing the platelets, stem cells, and growth factors.

3.- After numbing the area to be treated, the solution will be injected.

4.- Pain management using a nitrous oxide delivery system is also available to enhance your comfort throughout the procedure.

5.- Mild swelling in the injected is normal following a treatment but typically resolves within approximately 3 hours.

6.- Within a few weeks of treatment, you can observe an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture, and tone.

7.- New collagen and blood vessels will begin to grow after approximately 3-6 weeks.

8.- Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as volume correction typically happens over 3-6 months following treatment.

Yes! If you are looking for a quick volume fix and sustained results, you can also choose to combine PRP with hyaluronic acid fillers.

Other treatments may also be beneficial to you and can be discussed with a health professional during your consultation in order to determine your ideal treatment plan.

The downtime for PRP Biorevitalization is typically about 24 hours.

The healing properties present in the PRP solution promote fast recovery of the small puncture wounds made by the injection needle.

Following your treatment procedure, you will be given detailed skincare instructions.

  • As a general rule, following your treatment, you will need to avoid wearing makeup until any skin irritation has resolved.
  • Moisturizer should be applied to the treatment area, and direct exposure to the sun should be avoided.
  • It is also recommended that patients regularly use broad-spectrum sunscreen on a daily basis; this reduces the risk of skin cancer and also slows sun damage-related skin aging.

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a natural healing and tissue-regenerating treatment option that utilizes a patient’s own blood to promote healing and tissue growth.

PRF is created by centrifuging a small sample of a patient’s blood in order to separate the platelets and fibrin from the other blood components. These platelets and fibrin are then used in the treatment area to promote healing.

PRF has several advantages when used in dental and orthopedic procedures. One of the main advantages is that it promotes faster healing and tissue regeneration.

PRF also reduces pain and inflammation and can be used as a substitute for traditional bone grafts. Additionally, it is a cost-effective and natural alternative to synthetic materials. It also eliminates the risk of rejection or allergic reaction as it is derived from the patient’s own blood.

While platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) has many advantages, there are also some disadvantages to consider.

One of the main disadvantages is that PRF is a relatively new treatment option, and more research is needed to fully understand its long-term effects. Additionally, PRF is a relatively complex procedure, and it requires specialized equipment and trained personnel to prepare the PRF.

Another disadvantage is that PRF is not suitable for all patients, such as those with bleeding disorders or taking blood-thinning medication.

PRF works very similarly to PRP. Your blood is collected and its components (growth factors, platelets, stem cells, and fibrin) are separated in a process called centrifugation. White blood cells are also collected as they contain Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF).

To separate fibrin, the patient’s blood is spun in the centrifuge at a lower G Force than PRP.

If you’ve noticed fine lines, wrinkles, loss of skin volume, or an overall dull appearance in your skin and you’re not ready to go under the knife, you’re a good candidate for PRF.

  • The doctor will first draw approximately 20 ccs of the patient’s blood.
  • The blood will be centrifuged to separate the plasma containing the platelets, stem cells, fibrin, and growth factors.
  • After numbing the area to be treated, the solution will be injected.
  • Small swellings are expected in the injected area which will disappear within 3 hours.
  • Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture, and tone will be seen.
  • New collagen and blood vessels will begin to grow after 3-6 weeks.
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as volume correction, happens over 3-6 months.
  • The effects can last 1-2 years depending on the individual.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Ultherapy

Ultherapy is an FDA-approved, non-invasive procedure that lifts and tightens the skin.

It is typically used to treat the skin of the neck, jawline, eyebrows, and décolletage. Ultherapy uses ultrasound waves to generate a thermal effect in the tissues below the surface of the skin which stimulates the natural healing of damaged tissues. Production of new collagen tissue in the treated areas results in a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance.

Ultherapy usually focuses on: the neck, chin, chest and eyebrows

As damaged tissues beneath the skin begin to heal and new collagen is produced, visible results start to appear. This typically takes 2-3 months to become noticeable, and results continue to improve for up to 6 months following treatment.

Little to no downtime is required following an Ultherapy treatment. At most, patients typically report some mild redness, swelling, or tenderness of the skin following a treatment, but this resolves within 24 hours in most patients.

A single treatment session typically produces results that will last for up to a year.

Yes, Ultherapy can be combined with other treatments to maximize your results.

While Ultherapy produces outstanding results in addressing sagging or wrinkling skin, it does not address other issues, such as acne blemishes and pigmentation issues.

  • Following your initial consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for the treatment and what type of results you are hoping to achieve, your personalized treatment plan will be developed.
  • At the beginning of your Ultherapy treatment, the medical practitioner will first cleanse the skin and identify specific areas to be treated.
  • Ultrasound gel will then be applied and a smooth treatment applicator will be used for deep skin imaging.
  • Focused ultrasound energy will then be delivered in the optimal places with optimal energy levels.
  • During the treatment, you can expect to feel some discomfort; however, there are several forms of pain management available to you to maximize your comfort throughout the procedure.

Hair restoration treatment can enhance an individual’s personality and boost their overall confidence. Hair loss and hair thinning are more common than you think.

People who have undergone treatments like chemotherapy, suffered an injury, or have had severe hair loss are generally the individuals who would benefit most from some kind of hair restoration treatment.

It is a preferable treatment for those who are seeking a more natural remedy and is specifically formulated to work on specific areas of the scalp.

PRP is highly beneficial in treating various hair-related problems:

  • Improves hair growth
  • Helps in treating alopecia
  • Reduces the appearance of hair thinning

PRP treatments may show visible results 6-9 months after the treatment is done for hair restoration. However, the effectiveness and time duration for the results to be visible differs from person to person.

The PRP treatments have a lot of potential for hair restoration.

Accordingly, there may be some PRP hair loss treatment side effects.

  • Injecting PRP may cause temporary pain in the area surrounding the injection.
  • Exposure of the body to PRP injections, if not performed correctly, may lead to infection.

OxyGeneo

Facial Treatment

Facials are a gentle, relaxing treatment, perfect for all skin types. A regular facial provides many benefits including noticeable improvements to your skin tone, texture, and appearance.

A facial treatment is a beauty treatment for your face. Facials use a variety of products, massage techniques, and equipment to give you cleaner, healthier, more radiant-looking skin.

The aims of facials are: to clean and smooth: slough away dead skin cells, and deep-cleaning pores with a cleanser, help prevent acne and dull skin, and leave skin feeling smoother and softer, balance and moisturize: hydrating skin with the right facial serum and/or moisturizer for your skin type will nourish your skin and balance over-dry and over-oily patches, to target specific skin concerns: such as blemishes and breakouts, healing and brightening products and toning techniques can be used to make your skin look clearer, firmer, fresher and lovelier.

Facial treatments help to improve circulation, optimize cellular health and promote collagen production. Our facial leaves your skin cleaner, softer, younger, and truly transformed. Facials can help clear clogged pores, quench parched skin and remove dead cells.

Avoid wearing makeup on your skin during the day or two that follow your facial, to give your skin time to heal. Facials are one of the most popular beauty treatments, as they are both extremely beneficial for the skin and also very relaxing.

All facial treatments follow structure and order. They will begin with makeup removal and cleansing. The cleansing is normally repeated twice to ensure it is thorough. Then comes some method of exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and smooth the surface of the skin.

A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment used to improve the appearance of the skin on the face, neck, or hands.

The procedure involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which causes the top layer of dead skin cells to peel off, revealing smoother, more even-toned skin underneath.

  • Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improving the texture and tone of the skin
  • Reducing the appearance of age spots and other pigmentation issues
  • Enhancing the skin’s ability to retain moisture
  • Helping to reduce the appearance of acne and acne scars
  • Improving the overall health and appearance of the skin

Progressive and repeated treatments of light to medium peels are the best to see gradual results.

Repeated treatments will help your skin adapt to it. Once your skin acclimates, it will rejuvenate itself like youthful skin. Some common peeling agents are alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), beta hydroxy acids (BHA), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and retinol. AHA includes glycolic acid, lactic acid, and citric acid.

  • Redness and irritation of the skin
  • Sensitivity to sunlight and UV rays
  • Changes in skin color or pigmentation
  • Scarring or infection
  • Allergic reactions to the chemicals used in the peel
  • After the peel, the skin will be red and swollen, and a scab may form.
  • It is important to avoid sun exposure and to use sun protection while the skin is healing.
  • It’s also important to avoid using any skincare products that may irritate the skin during the healing process.

You can see instant results of the chemical peel with a healthy glow of the skin.

Your skin may be slightly red, but this effect will be minimal with a superficial peel.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal treatment is a medical procedure that removes unwanted hair using a concentrated beam of light. It is considered to be one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic treatments.

Not at all! Soprano hair removal is the only clinically proven method of laser hair reduction that is almost painless and safe for all skin types.

According to some dermatologists, anyone over 15 years old can have laser treatment done on their body.

  • Don’t do any waxing or Bleaching before the treatment
  • Avoid direct sun exposure as it can cause skin irritation. If you must go outside, use sunscreen that has an SPF of 50.
  • Stop using any unnecessary sprays or tanning creams on your skin.
  • Avoid taking hot showers for at least 2-3 days.
  • Waxing, Bleaching, and shaving creams should be avoided entirely for some time.
  • If you feel any burning sensation, aloe vera gels or rose water can be used to soothe your skin.
  • Avoid vigorously rubbing on the treated skin.

The amount of time taken and the number of sessions required for laser hair removal depends on the person. The quantity and quality of hair you have will play a major role in determining the time frame.

For optimal results, most people require between 4 and 6 sessions.

Professional laser hair removal is the closest treatment available to permanent hair removal.

Laser hair removal can be a permanent solution, as long as treatment is optimized and you follow your aesthetician’s recommendations. With yearly follow-ups, laser hair treatment will offer permanent solutions to hair growth.
